What’s the Best Way for Small Cafés to Run Loyalty or Rewards Programs?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking into how small drive-thru coffee shops or local cafés manage their loyalty programs without needing huge budgets or complicated tech setups. I’m especially curious about what’s working well in Australia — is it still old-school punch cards, or are digital apps taking over even in smaller setups?
While doing some research, I found a good example from a brand called 7brew. Their setup ties into an app and seems to do a nice job keeping customers coming back with points and perks. It made me wonder — could something like that be adapted for smaller businesses here?
If anyone has experience with running a loyalty program or choosing between digital vs. manual methods, I’d really appreciate your input. What’s worked best for you?
