Diabetic foot care – is a check-up really necessary?

Hi all, I’ve recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and my GP mentioned that I should be getting regular foot checks. Honestly, I didn’t quite get why – my feet feel totally fine and I’ve never had issues like blisters or ulcers. I always thought foot problems came way later in the diabetes journey. Is it really worth booking another appointment when I’m already juggling so many check-ups? Or is this just one of those overcautious recommendations that might not be necessary if nothing feels wrong? Curious to hear if anyone here actually gets these checks done and whether it’s helped.

That makes sense now. Cheers for clearing it up!
