'Arsenal make opening Havertz proposal'

Arsenal have made a proposal to sign Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, reports The Athletic.

Bayern Munich are also interested in Havertz, according to the report, which adds that Arsenal are planning a formal offer to West Ham for Declan Rice "soon".

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says Havertz is "keen on the move" to Arsenal but Chelsea are asking for £75m.

Real Madrid had also been interested after Karim Benzema's surprise decision to leave but Romano says talks with the Spanish club are "currently off".
