Are professional roofers worth it compared to cheaper contractors?

Hello everyone. I’m currently comparing quotes for some roofing work, and the price differences are huge. Some contractors offer very cheap deals, while established roofers cost noticeably more. I don’t mind paying for quality, but I’m trying to understand whether the higher price truly reflects better work and durability, or if it’s just branding. For those with experience, is it really worth hiring experienced roofers, or can smaller cheaper crews do a decent job too?

From my experience, quality roofers are definitely worth it. Cheaper work can look fine at first but often leads to problems later — poor sealing, weak materials, or incorrect installation. I once chose a low quote and ended up paying twice after leaks appeared months later. Good roofers focus on proper installation, ventilation, and long-term durability, not just quick fixes.
