Coffee price trend swinging on Brazil’s weather — sustainable or not?

The coffee price trend has been on a rollercoaster. One week it spikes because of frost or heavy rains in Brazil, and the next it cools off when forecasts improve. Add in concerns about global shipping costs and currency shifts, and the picture gets even messier.

What I’m trying to figure out is whether these swings are just short-term weather blips or part of a bigger structural shift. Demand for coffee globally isn’t slowing down, but supply remains heavily tied to a few regions, which makes the market extra sensitive.

For roasters and procurement managers, this volatility creates tough calls: do you hedge now to lock in prices, or wait and risk paying more later?

If you’re active in the coffee trade — farmer, exporter, or buyer — what’s your perspective on the coffee price trend? Are we looking at sustained high prices, or just temporary shocks?
