Thinking about window treatments.

I've been looking for curtains, but they are so expensive! I don't know if they are worth the money. Then there are blinds - they are cheap, but they just look so...cheap. And then there are blinds - they're nice, but they're not that versatile and take up a lot of space.

So what do you guys think? What would be the best window treatments for my house?
