Sri Lankan u17 footballers suffered a heavy loss in their opening game in the SAFF U17 Championship currently underway in Sri Lanka Sri Lanka at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo

Bangladesh youth dominated the entire match and outclassed the home side in every department.

Bangladesh have sent their academy players to the championship for the second time since the budding players from the now-defunct BFF Academy in Sylhet helped hosts Bangladesh clinch the title of 2016 SAFF U-16 Championship.
