Work involves machines, ladders, and sometimes electrical tasks, so safety sits at the top of the list. Wearing a ring at work isn’t always smart, but a band for off-hours and weekends is still wanted. Tough metal, low profile, and a finish that hides marks would be ideal. Resizing later might be needed, and skin comfort matters. Width around 5–6mm feels right; just not sure which metal and edge style make the most sense.

Around moving parts, remove metal rings or swap to silicone—safety first. For the “real” band, choose a low-dome profile with rounded edges so it slides under straps and won’t catch easily. Platinum is hypoallergenic and resizes well; titanium is lightweight and tough for everyday bumps, but resizing can be limited. High polish shows scratches fast, so a satin or brushed finish is easier to live with. If you want to compare edge shapes, finishes, and widths efficiently, browse Mens Rings and study the side photos for dome height and inside rounding. Tungsten is very hard but can be brittle; great for scratch resistance, not for resizing. Nail your size late in the day, and keep a silicone band for job sites.
